all designs are compromise

In my opinion all designs have faults and failures in them, so it is better to figure them out during the design process and try to fix or minimize them, as opposed to finding out about these problems from the client or user.

Like the book "How designers think" said, all designs are compromise. At this point, who is the target group and what is your goal are very important aspect of a design. Do you want 100% of your target group people 70% satisfied or want 70% your target group 100% satisfied? In the book, the author said maybe you can only make 10% people of your target group 100% satisfied, but it is still a good design. Sometimes even we know the problem or the faults of a design, but we still cannot fix it (technical or methodical aspect) or sometimes the correction of one problem maybe brings other problems, and some of the problems are not under control, something like users' mis-manipulation. Under these kind of condition, what we should do is to eatimate the degree of risk or damage of these problems, and the cost to compensate and avoid the effect of these problems, maybe also should account the marketing aspects, and reach to the best we can.
